Pyroplex intumescent strip provides a traditional fire only seal for fire rated timber door edges and frames, offering between 30 to 120 minutes fire resistance. This fire intumescent strip is suitable for rebates in timber single and double action, as well as single or double doors. It is also designed to use for latched and unlatched doors and is ideal for new build and retro-fit applications. Pyroplex is also suitable for humid environments.
The fire strip is manufactured with a rigid box outer case made from PVC-u for added durability and features a intumescent graphite insert, providing the fire protection. In the event of a fire, the extreme heat causes the intumescent strip to expand and seal the gap between the door leaf and the frame. This contains the fire and allows enough time for people to evacuate the building.
This rebated intumescent fire strip is quick and easy to fit with no additional tools required. Surface mounted with an acrylic self-adhesive tape supplied.
Tested to BS 476: Part 20:22 and BS EN 1634-1 as well as other international standards. In addition, Pyroplex fire strip is also compliant with the requirements of Certifire TS35. Independently tested on a range of single and double leaf doorsets.
Pyroplex intumescent strip is available in a white, brown or black colour and is supplied in 2.1m lengths.
