Lorient Finesse intumescent strip offers ultimate acoustic, smoke and fire protection, with the added benefit of thermal containment. This high-class seal offers performance and durability with a truly superb appearance. With clear fins as standard, it’s ideal for luxury installations, where aesthetics are paramount, as well as upgrading doorsets in heritage projects. Suitable for single and double leaf doors, for gaps of 3mm to 4mm.
Depending on the choice of the fire strip, the Finesse covers 30 and 60 minute applications. The strip is designed with a PVC-u holder filled with a sodium silicate intumescent material and a flexible elastomeric fin on each side. The translucent fins blend discretly into the door or frame. The unique fin design means that whichever way round the product is installed, the seal can always be fitted in the correct place, maintaining the integrity of the acoustic and smoke seal at the ironmongery points. Unique dual fins provide continuous acoustic and smoke protection at ironmongery points vital for life safety, and is essential for meeting the acoustic requirements of Approved Document E.
When exposed to fire, the seal expands and closes the gap between the door and the frame to stop the fire and smoke from spreading.
Successfully tested for fire and smoke performance in accordance with BS 476 Parts 22:1987 and 31.1: 1983 and BS EN 1634-1:2008. Meets smoke requirement: BS 9999: 2017. Acoustically tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 10140-2: 2010, and proven to meet the requirements of Document E. Certified by Certifire (CF330/CF341), BBA (92/2841) and IFC (FRPP454).
Available in a 2100mm length as standard, with standard colours and sizes to match the door assembly. The Lorient Finesse fire & smoke intumescent strip is very hard wearing and has a low friction resistance for ease of door operation. It has been durability tested for 1 million opening and closing cycles. Supplied with fitting instructions and a heavy duty self-adhesive backing tape for quick and easy installation.
