Lorient AS is a door seal that provides acoustic, fire & smoke protection with the added benefit of thermal containment. The AS also offers integral antimicrobial protection. Intended for single and double leaf doors and suitable for gaps 3mm to 4mm.
The fire strip is suitable for both 30 and 60 minute applications, depending on the size chosen. The strip is designed with a PVC-u holder filled with a sodium silicate intumescent material and a flexible elastomeric fin on the side. The intumescent material exhibits outstanding reliability and durability and when exposed to fire, it remains stable at temperatures in the region of 1,000C. In the event of a fire, the seal expands and closes the gap between the door and the frame to stop the fire and smoke from spreading.
The AS intumescent strip has been acoustically tested to BS EN ISO 10140-2:2010 and fire tested to BS EN 1634-1:2008 & BS 476-22:1987. Smoke tested to BS 476-31.1: 1983 meeting the requirement: BS 9999: 2017. Lorient AS fire strip has been approved by British Board of Agreement and Certifire (CF330/CF136) for use on timber-based fire door assemblies. Also, certified by BBA 92/2841 and IFC FRPP454.
Available in a 2100mm length as standard, with standard colours and sizes to match the door assembly. The Lorient AS fire & smoke intumescent strip is very hard wearing and has a low friction resistance for ease of door operation. It has been durability tested for 1 million opening and closing cycles. Supplied with fitting instructions and a heavy duty self-adhesive backing tape for quick and easy installation.
