Sealmaster FireGlaze Compound is an intumescent glazing sealant that offers a 30 minute fire resistance. Intended for both glazed openings in fire doors and glazed fire screens, this specialised intumescent sealant can be used for a butt-jointed system. Water-based and erosion-resistant, FireGlaze Compound contains no toxic or hazardous materials.
Applied with a skeleton gun to form a discrete vertical butt joints around each pane of fire safety glass. During a fire the intumescent seal activates to insulate and support the edges of the glass, enabling even full-sized panes to hold back fire for up to 30 minutes after reaching the glass‚Äôs softening point. Upon activation under the heat of fire, FireGlaze glazing seal doesn’t generate any noxious fumes or smoke.
Supplied in 310ml cartridges, Sealmaster FireGlaze Compound provides approximately 12 linear metres of 6mm bead. The FireGlaze fire resistant sealant is available in either a white, brown, black, grey or a light oak for a seamless match with the glass and the perimeter frame. Illustrated instructions that are easy to follow are provided.
FireGlaze Compound has been proven in independence BS 476: Part 22 tests and the butt-joined system has also been assessed by the Warrington Fire Research Centre. Certifire CF 221 approved.
