Hodgson Sealants Firestrip 30 is an intumescent glazing tape that provides 30 minute fire resistance to internal doors, as well as softwood or hardwood timber screens. It can be used with a wide variety of insulating and non-insulating fire glass types. Non-toxic, the Firestrip 30 glazing tape is a cost-effective alternative to rigid/semi-rigid fire resistant materials.
In the event of a fire, the Firestrip 30 intumescent tape swells and effectively stops the passage of smoke and fire between the glass and the beads. Excellent high tack surface provides good adhesion making the installation process very quick and easy. Firestrip 30 adheres the best to clean surfaces within a temperature of +5°C to +30°C. The product can also be overpainted or stained to suit your application.
The Firestrip 30 glazing strip is applied by removing the self adhesive backing paper, bed the beads to the Firestrip 60 by applying pressure to obtain good contact between the strip and the bead. Fix the beads with pins or screws in accordance with the design requirements of the installation. Pins or screws should be angled at 45 degress to pass beneath the glass. Trim off any Firestrip 60 above the sight line with a sharp knife.
This tried and tested product combines ease of use, with full compliance with current fire regulations. BWF Certifire approved CF297, the Firestrip 30 has been fire tested to BS 476 EN 1634: Part 4 and EN 1364: Part 1.
Available as a 12x3mm intumescent glazing tape. Supplied in 15 metre reels in either white or a mahogany brown.
Shelf life: 12 months when stored flat in original packaging in cool, dry conditions.
