Thermoguard Wallcoat Smoke & Flame Retardant paint offers a decorative finish and can achieve 30 to 60 minute fire resistance when applied over the Intumescent 30/60 Basecoat or the Wallcoat Insulating Basecoat.
This smoke and fire retardant paint forms part of a system for protecting walls and ceilings, which is proven to resist scuffing in high traffic commercial and residential settings when tested to ISO:11998:2006, making it ideal for walls in corridors, stairwells and lift lobbies.
In the event of fire, the Wallcoat Smoke & Flame Retardant paint emits a safe fire damping vapour within a fire to control the flame spread and suppress smoke.
The Thermoguard Wallcoat fire resistant paint protects bare and painted walls from low risk Class 1, moderate Class 2, to high risk Class 4 multi-layer painted walls and ceilings and is compliant with BS EN Class B s1 d0 (old Class 0). It can also be used externally with or without insulating basecoat and has been fire tested to UKAS and EOTA standards in an accredited fire test laboratory.
Before application make sure the basecoat is clean and dry. Stir well and apply 1 coat of the Thermoguard Wallcoat Smoke & Flame Retardant internally and 2 coats externally. In normal conditions product will be touch dry in an hour and fully dry after 4 hours. Do not store the product below 5°C or above 30°C.
This flame retardant paint can be applied with a brush or a roller and is available in a Matt finish. For the highest resistance to stains and scuffing always use Eggshell.
