Mann Mcgowan Pyrostrip 300 intumescent glazing strip has been developed to provide 30 minutes fire protection to various types of fire resistant glass. Suitable for use as a glazing seal within glazed apertures of fire resisting doors.
Pyrostrip 300 is a flexible phosphate based (MAP) multi-component intumescent strip. When exposed to heat, this non-pressure developing intumescent glazing strip expands 40 times its original volume. The product exerts a two phase expansion at 150ºC and then at 300ºC. The resulting foam acts as both an insulator against radiant heat and a barrier to fill gaps in fire resisting structures. The binder system employed when the product is manfuactured means Pyrostrip 300 is flexible in its cold state.
The Pyrostrip 300 has been successfully fire tested to BS 476 Part 22 and BS EN 1634. In addition, IFSA have conducted ageing tests as part of an ongoing programme in the UK and Germany.
Supplied as standard in a 10x2mm, 1000mm length and white in colour. The fire rated glazing strip is quick and easy to fix with self-adhesive tape provided and the glazing strip can be cut with scissors or a sharp knife to suit bespoke applications.
