ISL Therm-A-Glaze 30 is a high pressure intumescent strip suited for glazing applications where a large amount of expansion is required whilst retaining firm pressure. This flexible dry intumescent glazing strip has been developed to provide excellent fire sealing properties, offering 30 minute fire resistance.
This glazing strip is made of a unique chemical formulation based on expandable graphite with an activation temperature of around 200C. The fire resistant glazing strip is resistant to water and normal environmental conditions so that no external protection is needed. It can be installed in either external or internal timber fire doorsets.
The Therm-A-Glaze 30 glazing strip provides protection to the glazing panel and timber beading, as well as 6mm Georgian wired glass in aperatures up to 900mm x 600mm. It can also be used with other intumescent products for improved glazing performance.
Particularly useful in cases where generous expansion properties are required, this fire resistant glazing strip gives an approximate twenty fold increase in volume when exposed. It expands to fill gaps forming a dense mat of impenetrable intumescent carbon.
Therm-A-Glaze 30 intumescent glazing strip has been successfully tested as a component of various door sets to meet the fire resistance requirements of BS 476: Part 20 & 22. It has also been certified to the more exacting standards required by Certifire CF284.
Available in a 10mm x 2mm grey strip in a standard 2100mm length. Supplied with a self-adhesive backing tape, the material can be cut with scissors or a sharp knife allowing rapid and easy installation in glazed fire door apertures. The material may be decorated with a wide range of conventional finishes without impairing the performance.
