ISL 60 Plus is a non-ceramic fibre intumescent glazing tape specifically developed to achieve successful fire performance to BS and EN Standards for both doors and screens. It provides excellent high temperature insulation combined with the benefit of intumescence for sealing properties.
Made from biosoluble alkaline earth silicate fibres, the ISL 60 Plus also contains vermiculite particles to produce the intumescent behaviour. Lightweight and highly compressible with good handling strength, the tape also has excellent resistance to thermal erosion, with thermal stability properties of up to 1260°C and a medium pressure intumescence up to 3 times in volume.
The highly insulating and intumescent behaviour of ISL 60 Plus glazing tape allows it to be used across a very broad range of fire resistant glazings including integrity, semi-insulating and insulation glasses and it is particularly beneficial for systems comprising modified toughened or toughened borosilicate glasses. It is suitable for use in both timber and steel fire rated glazing systems and the tape can provide fire resistance for 60, 90 and 120 minutes for indoor applications only. For fire rated toughened glass in timber/steel systems, 60 minutes integrity is only applicable.
This fire rated glazing tape has a self adhesive backing to allow quick and easy installation into both fire door apertures and fire glazing screens. The material has excellent flexibility and can be cut very easily with scissors or a sharp knife, so is very easy to fit to glazing beads and other precision-dependent applications.
The ISL Plus intumescent glazing tape has been successfully fire tested to BS 476: Part 22: 1987.
Available in an off white speckled colour only, the ISL 60 Plus intumescent tape is supplied in 10 metre length rolls and in standard widths of 15mm, 20mm and 25mm all at 5.8mm thickness. If required for glazing applications, the glazing tape can be easily compressed down to 4mm giving a professional glazed finish.
