ULTIMA 60(S) Intumescent Fire and Smoke Seal is a high-performance fire door smoke seal designed to enhance the stability and protection of door assemblies under fire conditions. This innovative seal combines gap-filling functionality with high expansion pressure to strengthen fire doors during a blaze. Featuring two distinct intumescent materials and a flexible elastomeric smoke blade, Ultima provides comprehensive fire and smoke protection for 60-minute rated door assemblies.
The system consists of a user-friendly aluminium holder with dual reservoirs and a self-extinguishing elastomeric smoke blade. The first reservoir contains an expandable graphite compound that delivers high-pressure, multi directional expansion to restrict door movement during a fire. The second reservoir houses a mono-ammonium phosphate-based compound that expands up to 40 times its original volume, making it particularly effective for sealing larger or shifting gaps.
In daily use, the elastomeric blade serves as an efficient draught barrier and resists smoke penetration, fully compliant with BS 5588: Parts 1 and 2—ensuring reliable performance as a fire door smoke seal.
Ultima’s intumescent materials are inherently resistant to moisture and atmospheric carbon dioxide, eliminating the need for additional protective coatings. These claims are supported by controlled laboratory testing and proven real-world applications, especially for the mono-ammonium phosphate formula.
