Rockwool FirePro Acoustic Intumescent Sealant is a water-based acrylic sealant used to reinstate the fire resistance of wall and floor constructions where apertures are penetrated by multiple services or linear gaps.
Designed for use in sealing linear joints up to 50mm wide and some individual service penetrations passing through various substrates. It is suitable for protecting both combustible and non-combustible pipes among other permanent services.
This intumescent sealant is the only product approved for use with Rockwool Ablative Coated Batt.
Acoustically tested to BS EN 1366-3: 2009 and BS EN 1366-4: 2006 +A1:2010 with up to 57dB sound reduction. Air leakage tested and CE marked against EAD 350454-00-1104. This Rockwool sealant has achieved a third-party certification through UL, Certificate No. UL-EU-01203-CPR. The Rockwool FirePro Acoustic Intumescent Sealant has also been classified to EN 13501-2 providing up to 4 hours fire protection in joints up to 30mm.
Supplied in 310ml cartridges. The intumescent sealant needs to be applied to a clean surface, with no primer required. The sealant is fast curing, with approximately 15-minute tack free time. When fully cured, the sealant allows limited flexibility and can be overpainted. Available as a trowel grade option.
