Sealmaster Thunder TMG is an aluminium door threshold plate suitable for inward opening doors. Paired with a weather bar the threshold plate can provide an acoustic sealing system that is also effective against draught and weather conditions.
The TMG threshold plate should be mounted on single timber batten (not supplied) which is fixed to the existing sill with screws supplied; both fitted tightly between the stops. The batten should be sized to bring the top of the threshold plate to approximately 2mm above the top of the water bar and have grooves cut into the underside to allow drainage.
The Thunder TMG can be used in combination with the WHG or the WGG to create a threshold sealing system. It can also be used alongside stop seals and may be run down to the sill or stopped at the top of the WGG weatherboard, according to preference. The weatherboard is fixed to the face of the door and adjusted to make light contact with the threshold door floor plate.
The TMG can be used to create a smooth faced threshold seal for outward opening doors. The threshold plate is suitable for acoustic sealing applications with a Thunder weather bar reversed so that only an aluminium plate is visible. The door threshold plate is a low rise 3mm plate, available in gold and silver and lengths of 1000mm, 2100mm and 3000mm.
For pairs of inward opening doors, the threshold plate and batten should be fitted in a continuous length. The threshold and weatherboard sections should be bedded in silicone sealant.
